Winnersh garage triumphs as ‘Garage of the Year’

Winnersh garage photoWinnersh Alliance Autocentre garage, MoT City, is celebrating after winning the prestigious title of Garage of the Year in the regional small business category of the annual competition, held by industry body MotorCodes.

Fighting off strong local competition, MoT City, a member of the Alliance Autocentre Garage Programme, has been named one of 20 top regional large and small businesses, as chosen by the consumer. MotorCodes, which sets out standards of practice for the motor industry, used feedback from 13,500 car service and repair customers to choose the best regional garages across the UK.

Sean Bradbury, Proprietor of MoT City, said: “To be chosen as a regional finalist in this competition is a really great achievement. It means so much to us as it was predominately our customers who voted for us in the first two rounds of the competition, the rest is now up to the judges to decide. We have undergone an RAC inspection and we’ll be waiting to hear the announcement mid May.

“We strive to always provide a high level of service, and such an overwhelming response from our customers shows that we are succeeding in this. We are delighted to receive this recognition.”

The annual Garage of the Year initiative aims to help motorists find reliable garages that offer consistently good service, a quality and value upheld by the Alliance Autocentre Garage Programme.

The Alliance Autocentre Garage Programme provides a framework of standards and guides the garages to adopt and work by a dedicated Consumer Service Charter, which includes servicing and repairing vehicles safely to actual requirements, and only proceeding with additional work following customer approval, as well as treating all customers professionally, with courtesy and respect.

The Alliance Autocentre Garage Programme advises all of its members nationwide to join MotorCodes, to ensure its members work towards a set of quality standards.

In the programme, established by The Parts Alliance, garages are helped to raise their standards through service and repair training, and advice on fitting quality parts, backed up by a national warranty. The Alliance Autocentre Garage Programme was devised to help them expand and grow their business, as well as deliver first-class customer service.

The Alliance Autocentre Programme Manager Mike Smallbone said: “Congratulations go to Sean and all the MoT City team for winning this impressive award. We are very proud that a member of the Alliance Autocentre programme has won in the South East area, and we wish the garage all the best in the national finals!”

Following their regional win, MoT City is now in the final stage of the competition to find the UK’s best small garage.
