In association with the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA), the prestigious annual ‘Top Technician’ competition to find the nation’s best vehicle servicing expert has opened with the organisers announcing a total prize pot worth over £15,000 to the 2013 winner, including a tax-free cash sum of £2500.
Professional technicians working in any sector of the industry – be it independent workshop, franchised dealership, mobile or fast-fit franchise – are invited to register for and complete the first round online test at www.toptechnician.co.uk by February 25 2013.
This automatically enrols them in the ‘Top Tech Club’. The highest 12 scorers go forward to a half day series of practical tasks at Delphi’s Warwickshire training centre on March 22. The final six will then battle it out for the title and the massive prize package on April 26 in the finals at the Honda Institute, Slough, with the winner being announced at the ‘Top Technician Live’ training event, held at Mercedes-Benz World in Surrey on May 17.
After entries close, all entrants to the competition receive the correct answers to the online test in order to identify any training needs.
