Having recently taken the decision to refine its brand image whilst overhauling the look, content and architecture of its global websites, Banner Batteries – one of Europe’s leading original equipment manufacturers of batteries and battery accessories – has launched a new look labelling programme across its entire product range.

Introduced to add further growth impetus to Banner’s dynamic product offering that is the preferred original equipment choice of many of today’s leading automotive, CV, plant and leisure vehicle manufacturers, the new look labelling serves to make product and feature identification simpler and easier.

Currently being rolled out across the global markets in which Banner Batteries operates, the labels incorporate a new design element in the shape of a differentiation in space. Whilst continuing to rely heavily on Banner’s ongoing adoption of the colour red and its now familiar brand ambassador, the buffalo, the labelling now centres on the inclusion of the colours black, silver and gold. Introduced to echo Banner Batteries’ product segmentation strategy of ‘good, better and best’, the additional coloured element of the label is dedicated to detailed and visually understandable product information.

Commenting on this latest development, Banner’s Country Manager, Lee Quinney said: “The new look labelling will help further increase the visibility of Banner’s complete range of batteries, accessories and chargers across all of the market sectors where the company has an established operating presence. In addition to serving to further strengthen brand awareness, the process of product identification is simplified, as is information relevant to the product’s qualities in terms of durability and cycle life. We are confident that the new look labelling will be widely acclaimed across our customer base, particularly as it is befitting of a company that has such an unprecedented original equipment pedigree.”

A new direction and a new leader


In order to spearhead the transition from its existing individual business units to become ECOBAT Battery Technologies, parent company ECOBAT Technologies and the ECOBAT group has recruited Philippe Desnos as Vice President and Managing Director of the new pan-European entity.

Philippe has enormous aftermarket pedigree, having worked for a number of prominent companies within the industry beginning with Lucas in 1995, followed by Lucas TRW and then Delphi, where since 2013, he has been president of the aftermarket operation.

This considerable experience in the global aftermarket makes Philippe the ideal candidate to steer ECOBAT Battery Technologies as it follows its strategic course and develops into Europe’s number one battery partner, able to offer new levels when it comes to customer relationships, environmental controls and brand quality.

“Taking the helm at this exciting time is both a great privilege and an opportunity,” Philippe explained, “as we have to ensure that the existing businesses, all of which have operated very successfully within the wider group, continue to grow from their excellent foundations.

“In order to allow them to do so, we are developing our partnership philosophy, which brings multiple benefits across all our business relationships from supplier to manufacturer to recycler, but, most significantly, to our customers, who will continue to be our primary concern and therefore, our most important partners.”

In addition to his workplace experience, Philippe holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Warwick Business School in the UK, a Master’s degree in Automotive Systems from ESTACA University in France and a further Master’s degree in Engine Management Systems from Paris 6 University. He also speaks French, English and German.

Yuasa, the world’s leading battery manufacturer, has unveiled a brand new eye-catching race car livery for its 2016 BRSCC Formula Jedi Championship driver Bradley Hobday. Competing in his first ever single seater racing season, 29-year-old rookie Bradley Hobday will contest this year’s national BRSCC Formula Jedi Championship having enjoyed phenomenal success in 2015. Not only did Bradley dominate last year’s British Sprint Championship, winning 9 titles, but he also won his class in every event in which he competed.

This year will be the first time Bradley has competed in wheel-to-wheel racing on track. He will need to learn quickly, the 14 round Jedi championship is seen as the UK’s premier bike-engined, single-seater category and has been a proving ground for many top motorsport stars over the years. The closely fought series is notoriously competitive and held across Britain’s top racing circuits over 7 weekend events.

This is now the second season in which Bradley has enjoyed Yuasa’ support and will be the first year the battery manufacturer has been his main sponsor. To mark this, Bradley’s 1000cc Jedi car, which does 0-60mph in just 3 seconds, will carry a stunning all-over design based on the classic Honda Yuasa Racing British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) livery so well known amongst motorsport fans worldwide.

Bradley is looking forward to a successful season and delighted to have Yuasa’s backing. Speaking after the Silverstone test session, he said: “I am delighted to be working with Yuasa this season and looking forward to the challenge of competing in the BRSCC Formula Jedi Championship.

The battery manufacturer sponsors MotoGP’s Repsol Honda team and has been title sponsor of Honda Yuasa Racing in the BTCC since 2012. Last year winning the BTCC driver’s crown with Gordon Shedden and an unprecedented 5th manufacturer’s title.
